We are looking for a passionate and experienced Safety Director to lead our safety initiatives, ensuring compliance, fostering a culture of safety, and making a real impact on our job sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop & Implement Safety Programs – Drive a proactive safety culture across all projects.
  • Ensure Compliance – Stay ahead of OSHA, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct Job Site Audits – Identify risks and implement solutions before issues arise.
  • Lead Training & Development – Educate employees and subcontractors on best safety practices.
  • Investigate Incidents – Analyze accidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Leadership – Work closely with project managers and field teams to integrate safety into every step.
  • Act as the Safety Expert – Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and consultants.
  • Review Environmental Reports – Determine potential impact on team members.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience: 2+ years in construction safety management (preferred).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

  • Certifications:

    • Required: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR Certification
    • Preferred: OSHA 510, OSHA 500, CSP, CHST, or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Tech-Savvy: Experience with safety management software and Microsoft Office.

What You Should Know

Location

Most of our projects are located in southeast Michigan.

Documentation

You’ll be responsible for maintaining safety-related documents on-site, including safety orientations, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), SDSs, pre-task assessments, and toolbox talk summaries.

Flexibility & Independence

This role requires the ability to multi-task, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

This role requires hands-on engagement at active job sites. Be prepared for physical activity, including walking, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain.

Additional Skills

Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment. The ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently is essential.
